A Salt Dough Decoration

Let’s get crafty with our homemade salt dough recipe! Create fun and imaginative shapes with this simple and versatile dough. Get ready to mix, mold, and bake your way to endless creativity!

INGREDIENTS

½ cup of salt
½ cup of water
1 cup of flour

Stir all the ingredients together & mould into any shape you like. The children have rolled the dough into long sausages, then shaped it into their own initials and favourite numbers.

They have also made their own handprints and used cutters to make their own shapes. If you want to hang your decoration and need to tie a ribbon in it, don’t forget to make a hole in the top before cooking it (the end of a pencil usually works well).

Place the finished shape on a plate and microwave for up to 3 minutes (checking at intervals). You will know when it’s ready when it’s dry and hard. Allow to cool before decorating with paint, glitter and feathers, whatever you like!
